5th Annual Stratford on the Avenue Theatre Festival
We are sad to announce that this event has been put on hold due to safety concerns surrounding COVID-19. The festival was slated for the 3rd and 4th weekends of July at Rotary Park.
Stage Left Managing Director Lexi Kosla said, “This was a very difficult decision for our board of directors and the directors of this year’s production. While we had come up with many ways to keep our audience members distanced and protected, we found it would be almost impossible to produce a quality show in conjunction with keeping our actors distanced and/or masked during the performances. We also want to keep sacred the quality that our audience has come to expect, and there is just no way to make that happen safely this summer.”
Currently the Stage Left Board of Directors and the directors of the shows for Stratford 2020 are brainstorming ways to provide an alternative type of performance or to find a date for the shows when restrictions and safety aren’t as high a concern as they are currently.
The company will continue to accept video auditions for the production until such time that an alternative is decided upon. Videos may be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or by sending them through facebook messenger to the Stage Left Theatre Company page
Submissions should include 1 Shakespeare monologue and 1 contrasting modern monologue. The monologues DO NOT need to be memorized and videos should be kept to 2 minutes or less.
Actors are also asked to submit their info via this link: https://pdf.ac/w03rH
